Glee 3D The Movie Hit Rock Bottom!

One movie stayed strong. One movie opened strong. One movie took down Transformers: Dark of the Moon to rule over all others.

And then there was Glee.

RELATED: Well, it’s not like anybody thought the New Directions kids had a blockbuster on their hands…

The TV show’s 3-D concert movie not only failed to meet modest expectations—it failed to crack the box-office weekend’s Top 10.

The Glee movie finished in 11th place with a $5.7 million Friday-Sunday gross, per estimates. The performance wasn’t exactly a disaster; the film, culled from footage of this summer’s tour, cost a mere $9 million.

Still, something was off. Glee behaved more like a throwback to the days when concert movies didn’t do much, and less like a contemporary blockbuster à la Justin Bieber and Hannah Montana movies.

Or, to put it another way: It took Glee to make the Jonas Brothers look really big in 3-D.

Elsewhere, Rise of the Planet of the Apes held on to the top spot, and crossed the $100 million mark domestically, while The Help looked like the best-seller it’s been on Kindles, grossing $35 million since opening Wednesday.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 upped its domestic gross to $357 million to become the year’s top-grossing film—domestically, that is. With nearly $1.2 billion in the bank overall, the film had already established itself as the year’s No. 1 worldwide hit.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon, the year’s deposed domestic champ, exited the Top 10 after six monster weekends, and a $347.2 million take. (Worldwide, it’s at $1.1 billion and counting.)

Two comedies dropped out of the Top 10: Jennifer Aniston‘s Horrible Bosses, which lasted five weekends and came away with $110 million domestically; and, Justin Timberlake‘s and Mila Kunis‘ Friends With Benefits, which scored $53 million domestically, but proved unable to top the similarly themed No Strings Attached.

Final Destination 5, one of the weekend’s other new major releases, finished in the upper echelon of Final Destination movies, while 30 Minutes or Less, another newbie, did OK for an R-rated comedy about bombs, pizza and bank robbery.

And, yes, it’s strange, but it’s true: The Smurfs is nearing a $250 million worldwide gross.

Here’s a complete look at the weekend’s top-grossing films, per Friday-Sunday estimates as compiled by Exhibitor Relations:

  1. Rise of the Planet of the Apes, $27.5 million
  2. The Help, $25.5 million
  3. Final Destination 5, $18.4 million
  4. The Smurfs, $13.5 million
  5. 30 Minutes or Less, $13 million
  6. Cowboys & Aliens, $7.6 million
  7. Captain America: The First Avenger, $7.1 million
  8. Crazy, Stupid, Love, $6.9 million
  9. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, $6.88 million
  10. The Change-Up, $6.2 million

And The Nominees ARE…

Now, the second wave of nominations have been announced, and TCA 2011 is giving some love to Captain America: The First Avenger, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Switched at Birth, and Pretty Little Liars.

Chris Colfer Get’s The Axe From Glee Via Twitter??

20110714-040432.jpg

Geesh! You think Ryan Murphy would have filled them in before making the announcement!

We were shocked to learn this morning that Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, and Chris Colfer would be cut from their smash series, Glee, when their characters graduate from McKinley High at the end of the upcoming third season, and apparently, so was the latter – because Colfer only found out by reading Twitter yesterday!

Colfer explains:

“Yesterday on Twitter. Yeah, I found out that they made that announcement. I didn’t necessarily know that it was going to be our last season next year, I knew something like that was coming up eventually. I mean, we can’t be there forever. I don’t necessarily want to leave so soon, but I mean, it’s fine. It’s what it is. And all things come to an end. As a performer, I feel so fulfilled. I have two Emmy nominations and just from hearing from people out in the world about how much the character has helped people. If it’s time for a conclusion, I’m fulfilled with it, and I’m fine with it.”

Not very cool!

The three of them are partly responsible for the initial success of the show, so we don’t understand why Ryan wouldn’t at least honor that and give them the decency of a head’s up before telling them they were essentially fired via the press!

Although we do think this switch up will give the show a much-needed sense of realism and consistency, it’s still such a shame to know that we will have to say good-bye at the end of next season!

Sigh! Best enjoy as much of them now while we still can!

Your Top Favorite Gleeks Not Returning!!

20110714-121214.jpg

Last month, Ryan Murphy spoke about season three of Glee, and it was sounding as though it would be the last season for those whose characters will be graduating.

Now, the series creator has confirmed that Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, and Cory Monteith will not return for the show’s fourth season! Sad!

He explains:

“You can keep them on the show for six years and people will criticize you for not being realistic, or you can be really true to life and say when they started the show they were very clearly sophomores and they should graduate at the end of their senior year.”

“We’ve never done anything by the book. We made that decision and I involved Chris and Lea and they thought that was a good idea. They both trust the writing and trust me and felt that it would be great to have an open and closed experience for them to go out while they were on top.”

“We already made the decision before the new writers came in, but everybody likes where we’re taking it and what we’re writing toward.”

MINOR SPOILER ALERT: Here’s Ryan on his plans for Lea in season three:

“I’m much more interested in Lea’s character — not so much on her relationship with Finn, but more on what her dreams are beyond high school and how she plans on getting them. That’s what my senior year was about.”

As disappointing as it will be to see these characters go, we totally respect and appreciate what Ryan’s trying to do here. It would be pret-ty lame if they tried to figure out ways to keep everyone around, even though they’re graduating.

Plus, we have no doubt we’ll be seeing PLENTY more of Lea, Chris, and Cory! We just hope they’ll be back, in one way or another.

What do U think?? Will U be sad to say goodbye Rachel, Finn, and Kurt?

There’s been a major Glee casting shakeup. Someone is not returning to McKinley High! The actor/actress that’s leaving the show is… CHORD OVERSTREET! It’s been confirmed that Glee producers decided to not renew Chord’s contract as a series regular for the show’s upcoming third … Continue reading

Darren Criss Dragged Off Stage By Crazed Fan

Last night, the Glee tour pleasured of hundreds of Glee fans. The Gleeks put on an epic show for the sold-out Verizon Center crowd and at the show’s end, they reached out to some lucky D.C. fans to thank them for coming. Darren Criss reached out to touch the hand of a woman sitting alongside the stage. She in turn grabbed him and dragged him OFF STAGE!!!!

Thankfully, he didn’t get hurt and after he was checked out, he tweeted a very sincere message to the lady who got a handful of him. He wrote:

“To the lady who pulled me off the stage and into the pit tonight: if I ever see you on a stage… keep your wits about ya. Love, Darren :) ! ”

(5:30) is the time when it happens

FUN GLEE FACT!

Little glee fact Sam (Chord Overstreet) was set to play Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) boyfriend for season 2 and they decided Chord just didn’t fit in

the type of guy they wanted for Kurt so they decided to cut him and recast and got (Criss Darren) know as Blaine and thought he fit the picture!

So is you thought hey all these gossip blogs lied! no they were indeed correct but they just decided Sam was not meant for Kurt!

So you thoughts you think Sam and Kurt could have been good together?

Gleek Recap last ep.

20110524-090934.jpg

So this was the last glee of season 2 and season threw will be the last ep. I know sad!

So let’s talk this ep. The glee group went to new York for finals and was so excited they went out to experience NY, personally this is kinda boring ep. Till after the finales they learned they did not place and came in 12th.

Then what I been waiting for is Sam and Mercedes to date and it finally! Happened they were holding hands, and Blain and Kurt said I live you and Rachel and Fin are together again but ending was sooo good just can’t wait till next season!

What did you think of this season good bad and what was your thoughts on tonight ep? And any guess for next season I say Blain and Kurt break up and glee couch and Emma tie the night.

But leave your thoughts below!

Gleek Recap “Funeral”

RECAP:

So tonight ep. was called “Funeral” now if you read my last post I talk about how I thought maybe glee died and was shut down so they called it “Funeral” like in death of glee NOT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE!

So let’s start from the beginning the show opened with Jessie becoming a co glee helper (witch may I add I think he is just playing them like last time on season 1) but he came back and took over and told fin he will not be the lead in the nationals and decided to hold auditions for the “SOLO” part.

Then leading to Sue trying to destroy the glee club like always buy trying to send them to some other country by hacking Fig’s email with will’s ex wife that we just can’t get rid of.

Then Jesse goes on to put each other against one another in a competition for solo Santana, Kurt, Mercedes, and of course Rachel but go on telling them they all suck! and tell’s Mercedes she is fat and lazy and we almost have a fist fight so we thought, and then she stills the mic and Rachel goes on and Jessie eat her up in a good way saying she was amazing rigged much?

Here is the part we hate! Sue reviles her sister Jean died after she got sick that week and sue hates herself for leaving Jean after Jean said she would be fine, But it breaks sue’s heart and has no way to deal with the pain (and I add I cried) and Kurt and Fin bring’s flowers and a teddy bear. Sue can’t understand why because no one else has got her anything and plus how she was alway’s mean to the glee club all those years.

But Kurt and Fin explain they know how it feels to loose someone and they volunteer to go to the nursing home and help Sue go threw Jeans stuff and offer to plain the Funeral service so  Sue don’t have to. While this is going on Jessie is NOT down for the glee club helping Sue he goes on to say in vocal ad whatever they hang a died body in barnses (don’t quote me on that) but I found RUDE!

The Glee club goes ahead and does the Funeral and Sue goes to read her speech but get’s choked up and will volunteer’s to read it out loud. The note was VERY touching to all and the Funeral was unique like Jean was, glee sung Jeans Favorite song and played Jeans life on a TV screen making everyone cry and Sue was so surprised about the outcome of the people their.

After the Funeral fin tell’s Qween he breaks up because he loves Rachel and goes to visit Rachel at the auditorium but he come’s with a purple flower and A BIG SURPRISE Rachel kissing Jessie, Just when you thought they were gonna Finally be together right?

In the end Will tell’s Jessie off by saying they are NOT doing a solo they are doing a song as (1) not 1 and backup’s and Sue apologizes for kicking Becky of the Cheerios and we learn Sue has a heart finally and she promises to stop trying to end the glee club for GOOD, So I believe I really want to! and she goes on to say she is running for senate to help kid’s like her sister, but what will happen with the Cheerios? and will she?

So what did you think of tonight ep. do you miss Jean already I do leave your comment below and be sure to support use if you wanna see MORE! Glee stuff!

Glee R.I.P

If you watched glee tonight then you know the character “Jean” played by Robin Trocki died tonight on the show now we know why it was called “Funeral”. But tonight ep. BROKE MY HEART I loved Jean so sweet of all the bullying she went threw in life and she is my HERO on glee and in real life.

Be sure to read my full glee recap on the show tonight!

So Rest In Peace JEAN! We love and miss you
